Will it ever stop
I am on day three of truck repair, now for you who don't know, it takes between 8 to 12 hours to change a clutch. In Dade it takes ??? I got the old clutch out in about 6 hours (I would have got it out faster but, I had to stop and talk to passerbyes)went to the part store (advanced auto) had to order the part, and was told that it would be in by 10 next morning. Yesterday I find out that the order was sent in too late and it would be in today. Well the clutch gets in today and it's the wrong one. So now we reorder it and they say it will be in by 3 today (what ever).
Now I don't blame the guys at advanced they just look the crap up on the computer push a button and hope it gets here. I just miss the old days when I would go to the parts guy, he would whip though the book, walk in the back, open the box and he would know if it was the right part or not.
Lucky for me, my newest client is understanding and is willing to wait till who knows when.

Have you ever had one of those days
Today was mine.
It started off ok was meeting with a new client (she offerd me beer, sign one client will be good to work for) then I went to the house to get supplies/tools and that's when things started going down hill.
When I got to the house I couldn't find anything, ok fine, that's ok I'll just buy more stuff. Then when I got on to the freeway to go to Lowe's (man shopping, things looking up) when I lost the pressure plate (clutch) so now I am officially losing money (#@$%!!, @$#!%@) and to top it all off when I went to pay Rabbit (tow truck guy) I locked the door to my wife's Pathfinder (#@$$%!, @%@$%!!, @%@$#!%@). Oh I almost forgot no one in Trenton had a clutch (that's right, the truck capitol of the south)NO CLUTCH.
OK I'm chillin, things will look up tomorrow..... I hope.
Note to Linda: go to Free BSD .org Look in upper right corner.... walla a boyfriend for your imp.

Workin hard for the ibook
Well I got the bad new today it was the logic board and no Apple says it's not covered (figures) but, the logic board doesn't cost too much to replace (about $300). I should just buy a new ibook (about $1000) but, I really wanted to get a 15.1 inch power book 1.5 (about $2000)so I just went the cheap route fix the old one and make it last one more year until I get a real job were I can write off any large computer purchases.
Had fun today cleaning rain gutters and prepping stone work.... hey I gotta pay the bills. Tomorrow I get to mix concrete and fix a bad gutter (joy) then Saturday grout the stonework and my favorite, submiting of the bill. Then next week same thing different client I figure it's good practice for when I am billing for web design work (same job but better $$$).
**Dreaming**
one day you will be mine power book, you will be mine.

What I did during my summer vaction
Well I figure the best way to learn something (or in my case learn a new version) is to just jump in and I was sick of the old blog (someone elses layout). I will only use this one for a month or well... maybe untill fall break.
So far I like photoshop 7 but, I do find myself looking for old tools (like the paint bucket). But I had to do it cuz the last version I used was 3.0.
The ibook is in the shop (Desktop solutions) the mac master thinks its the power management chip (I hope cuz its a cheap fix) but the way my luck is going its the logic board and it's a problem that Apple won't cover. That's o.k I still have the good ole purple dv imac (wife picked color) which has enough juice to run photoshop but just shy of running macromedia stuff.
well time to work on billing.
all play and no work leaves Mike a broke boy.

ibook holiday
Well I finished 2 finals today and have one to go. Sick of working on the buggie vaio I plugged the battery back in to the ibook to see how long before it would dies. That was 5 o'clock at eight I plugged in the ac adpter in to the ibook thinking that would kill it nope, now after playing games, surfing the web and anything else to kill it, It lives on.
well, mike you should be happy it's running agian.
no, cuz I was going to the shop thursday to see if the logic board was going out. Now I'm going to have to figure out why leaving the battery out for 5 days fixes an ibook.
maybe ibooks must hate bad color design(gray and burgandy layout of the walker county site)
*sad* now I'm must kill the ibook, but how? ....... I know

XP+Sony vaio=update^2
I'm sure glad I have DSL since I am spending all my time downloading patches and trying out software(firewall, spyware and antivirus).
I also am getting caught up in the Tech TV/g4 merger. Now they trashed the tech tv website, the old one was not the greatest but you could find your way around(like finding tip you saw on a old episode). The new one has huge ads and loads slow and is littered with gaming crap. Now I love gaming but a channel that has all games is dumb first gammers don't watch tv (cuz there playing games or downloading cheats) computer people do, like right now I am watching american hotrod, writing this post and listening to Leo Laportte on KFI (online).
Enough complaining now on to other things.
looking forward to finishing the walker county site and I am now waiting for the team to finish the content on the last to pages. Then I get to error check (fun) then I start on the last frontpage assignment (then uninstall and burn).

Sad sad day
The iBook is dead, first I thought the hdrive was the problem but I now think it is the ac port cuz if I reset the cmos it will restart for about five minutes then it shuts itself down(safemode). I think what did it was either there was a power surge or one of the three time that the dogs yanked to the laptop off the coffee table(and landed on the ac port)realiy did do some damage. I would just use my wifes xp box (yuck)but it also is acting up(keys on the keyboard don't work, when it starts up it like to beep a dozen times, and the touch pad will start moving by itself).
I going to try and see if the local mac guy can do anything with it (maybe he can convince the applecare people that it is the logic board)till then I'm going to steal our imac back from my mother in-law(it's a 400mhz dv model).

Look out the mac is back
Monday night I lost my hard drive (damn you IBM hard drive)I ran all the test and nothing the drive was dead ,so I end up tearing my ibook apart and check all the connections hoping that maybe the last time I dropped my laptop I knocked a connection loose and found nothing wrong. So I just gave up and figured that I was going to have to buy a new drive no big deal right .... well the last time I backed up the hard drive was two months ago and I was about to lose alot of data. So today I started to plain on which drive I was going to use, size of partions ect ect when I read post on travelstar(ibm)FAQ site. The post from someone having the same problem. That when I saw the craziest responce
a golden god of a tech geek told him to freeze the drive because if the head stuck the freeze or cooling sometime is enough to knock it loose. So with nothing to lose I tried it and .......bam it started right up and then I started to backup like a mad man. So the mac is back and from now to when I replace the drive (with a kick ass 7200rpm)I am going to back up then I'm going to back up the back ups with a back up.... huh anyway no matter what your poison mac,pc,linux or menuet save yourself a heart attack and if you can't lose it back it up
