To WYSIWYG or not to WYSIWYG
I have been forced (Really had to twist Mike's old arm) to make the last couple web page layouts in Photoshop (the machine that can run Dreamweaver is getting a new hard drive) and like using it for simple pages, now I havn't tryed to use CSS, PHP or Javascript but, for a quick site it works great. Now I have notice all the really great sites are still using using Macromedia but, I think that is due to the fact that Adobe doesn't really do animation (you can use photoshop to animate with but, this is not for the faint at heart). Etherway they are doing right what Frontpage did wrong.
Now I don't just use WYSIWYG editors I still like to open the hood and tweek the code but, after dealing with "how does the page looks like in this browser with this OS" a couple of times I say "forget it and let the machine do the work"
Life is to short WYSIWYG baby

Straight A's two quarters in a row
Most students don't like Mr. Estes teaching style (hands off and tests account for about 10% of your grade) but, it's works for me (hey I got a 4.0 this quarter). Now in the big picture this only helped a little (3.14 to 3.33) but, I need all I can get to help me though algbra 191 (the last class I will take) hell 103 pushed me to the edge.
Now what does this mean in the big picture? Well I can make a poll or a quiz, I can work with the newer Adobe products and I know a few more terms I could use to confuse non-IT people.
Well got to go Sci-Fi has started the slider series over (the first ones were best)

I'm free (if only for 10 days)
Don't get me wrong, I need to get back to earning an income but, since I still have a year to go the only thing I look forward to (other than burning fallin trees)is these little breaks. I do have some work lined up but, its about three days work that leaves me 7 days... well I told one my instructors I would help him but, that might take two or three days and that leaves me four days.... well I do need to cut some more wood for winter but, that should take only one or two days that leaves me two days.... And I need to finish that web site for North Georgia animal league and that should take a day maybe two..... Great there goes my break and now the only thing I have to look forward to is going back to school.
I knew it was too go to be true, break yea what ever.

The parties over
I just spent half of my weekend cleaning up the yard (thanks Ivan). I feel like I had a drunk Russian uncle over for dinner (he tore the yard up and left me with the mess). Lucky for me he brought cooler weather so I can burn the piles of leaves and branches (Mike likes fire) in comfort.
Also Ivan gave me another day to studies for my finals (which couldn't hurt). This quarter was not as fun as I was hoping it would be and now I'm lookin at the last quarter in the web design field which is a database class (yuck), a macromedia class (yea) and emp100 (core class).
A&E has been fueling my Star Wars hunger, they have been playing biographies and "Empire of dreams" a look into the Star Wars world.
So with that time to go to a time long ago in a galaxy far far away

Bring out the gimp
Hey, Mike wasn't at class today, he never misses class... Well he does when he messes up his left foot(clean pond, wet rocks, not having the dexterity that I used to).
This little vacation will give me a chance to start looking into my latest project Ngaleague.org (north georgia animal league, don't bother yet they got hacked) I am figuring the best way to retrieve the old site(database, forums, ect) and isolate (I think there might be some perl code that opens a back door) retrieve date, transfer domain name and start from scratch.
I am taking this site over from Scott Miller (a programer) he used one of those all in one DNS, webservers the company's name is ipower web and I have untill the 17th of this month to get what ever I can, so back to work and I'll see my fellow students tommorrow.
back to work.

Time to dump the bucket
I woke up this moring to a blog with no pictures(agian) and I decided to slowly start moving all my stuff back home. Me and photobucket were a good starting line up but, two times losing my photos and sending pop-ups to my blog(three strikes, yourrrrrr out!). I have been working on starting up my own webserver, the first two days were spent going though two firewall and a isp that was blocking port 80. Now I just need to configure the server to use cgi, php, mysql and cf. Then after all that I will setup everything with the dns... man, I think I'm hungry for some soup.
